Hey guys. I recently did my scheduling for next school year (I'll be in ninth grade) and have joined AFJROTC. I've been looking forward to this all my life, but the apprehension has set in. Could any of you tell me what I should be expecting (concerning activites/physical requirements)? I'd really appreciate it.

I am putting together a GLP (Group Leadership Project) and I was wondering if you could share some ideas on the activities you do for the GLP. I want to do something new for my detachment but we've done alot and I am stuck on ideas. So if anyone has any activities that you do at your detachments please share.

I'm new to this community and to the idea of enlisting into the Air Force.  I'm 19, from Florida, a female and still planning on going to college.  I've always wanted to go to college in Alaska so I could study Atmospheric Sciences in one of the best AS programs in the world, and just because I'm inlove with the place.  How can I go to school where I want and still enlist in the Air Force?   Is the Air Force ROTC my only option?  I've only begun thinking about the military a few months ago, so I know almost nothing about it still.  I haven't been to a recruitment office to talk to an advisor just yet either.

Because I am seriously considering enlisting, I'd love to hear from some women in the airforce about what it has been like for them... going through basic training and from there on.

I just was notified that I'm an "alternate" for CTA duty at 2 difference encampments this summer. Can anyone (past CTAs or otherwise!) give me an idea of what the chances are of actually getting picked up to go? My PAS said it was "very likely" but the past alternates at our det never actually served as CTAs. How many other alternates are there? Also I was wondering how much earlier CTAs arrive at the FTU. Thanks so much guys!:)

Does the AFROTC have anything similiar to the Army's Simultaneous Membership Program? I am active duty enlisted and just on my three year mark of a four year contract so I am considering my options. I really want to comission and I have several options to explore. However I was wondering if anyone had experience with going Guard/Reserves and attaching themselves to an ROTC unit simultaneously? If that works and if it is possible? I plan on talking to reserve/guard recruiter and doing more research but I was wondering if anyone had some first hand experience or had any information that would be helpful to me. Thanks!

Interesting discussion of officership:

Case Tests Officers' Right To Dissent

On one hand, you can't have every officer being a lawyer/judge who has to go through tons of research to determine whether or not an order is legal, especially if you're given an order to do something with urgency. On another, as an officer, you have an obligation to refuse illegal orders.

I'm not sure where I stand on this issue and am interested to see how it turns out and why.

I was wondering if anyone here has been a part of the CSLIP program.  I'm slated to go in May, and I'd just like to know what to expect from a cadet's perspective.  If anyone has any memorable moments from the program, or even a list of advice I'd really appreciate it.

Well the new Org Chart came out and I was tasked with vice squadron commander for ops squadron. The new ops squadron commander asked me to put together some ideas for LLAB next semester.

I was wondering if you cadets could share with me some things that you have done for LLAB. Any suggestions that you can give will be excellent. I am looking for anything that can be fun and educational or can help with Field Training Prep (marching, warrior knowledge, physical, etc...) cadets. If you can offer any suggestions that I can add to my list it would be extreamly helpful...thankyou!

This is a simple request for your opinions. I have to give an advocacy briefing for ASBC on the topic listed below, and I can think of no better method of research than to survey. Thanks in advance. All personal information (as if anything were listed anyway =P) will remain undisclosed.

Does cutting personnel during a time of war in order to fund new weapons systems reduce AF morale?
